🔒 Our promise, in plain English

• We're not in the data business. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal information. To anyone. Ever.
• We cannot read your password — it's stored scrambled, as a secure hash. Not even we can see it.
• Sign in with Google or Facebook? We never see or store that password — they check it on their side; we only receive your name and email.
• Your email address is never shown to other members and never handed to advertisers. No ad trackers run inside this app.
• Your location is used only while you use it (Near Me, Cruise Mode). We keep no location history.

Information you give us

• Account: username, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash — we can't read it), and your city and state, which the app needs because car shows are local.
• Profile & content: your profile photo, your garage (cars and photos), shows you post, chat and direct messages, photos and videos, club activity, flyers you build, and reports you send us.
• If you sign in with Google or Facebook: we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from that provider so we can create and sign in to your account. We never see or store your Google or Facebook password.

Information collected automatically

• Location — only when you use it: the Near Me feature uses your location to show distance to shows, and Cruise Mode (opt-in) shares your live location with other participating cruisers while a cruise is on. We don't track your location in the background.
• Session cookie: one cookie keeps you signed in. App preferences (like your theme) are stored on your device. We don't use advertising trackers.
• Notifications: if you enable push notifications, we store a subscription for your device so we can deliver them.

How it's used

To run the app: show you relevant shows, deliver chats and notifications, operate clubs, safety, and moderation, prevent spam and abuse, and understand which features people use so we can improve them.

Who can see what

Content you post in shows, state rooms, and your public garage is visible to other members. Club chats and club content are visible to that club's members only. Direct messages are between you and the other person. Your email address is never shown to other members.

Sharing

We don't sell personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers. Information passes only to the services that run the app (such as our web host) and if the law requires it.

Retention

Chat videos are automatically deleted after 30 days and Reels after 90 days. Other content stays until you delete it or your account is removed.

Your choices & account deletion

You can edit your profile, make your garage private, and disconnect social sign-ins at any time. To delete your account and its data, email us at hello@showandshineapp.com and we'll take care of it. (An in-app delete option is in development.)

Children

Show & Shine is for people 16 and older — it's a community for drivers and car enthusiasts. It is not directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information; if we learn an account belongs to someone under 16, we'll remove it.
